Campaign Chest on Stand
The inspiration for this piece comes from campaign furniture of the 18th and 19th centuries. The style is characterized by flat, clean surfaces with recessed hardware that made for easy stacking and transport. Portable chests were commonly placed on collapsible stands, though this one is fixed.
The parquetry panels on the sliding doors are made of relief-cut squares of maple and paduk. The case is beech and the stand is hickory.
